CH Tippecanoe’s Mt To Sea Mia, RA

CH Tippecanoe's Mtn-To-Sea MiaMiss Mia – A.K.A. – “The Princess”
Multiple Best Of Breed Winner Miss Mia, finished her AKC Championship in three weekends out in the summer of 2004 under the careful tutelage of handler Lara Spears. Mia made winning look easy with three majors, BOB and BOS over specials on her wild ride to finish in style at the Atlanta cluster show. Mia has what cannot be taught… a certain pizzazz and ring presence. Her movement and structure are very correct. She is a large bitch, weighing in at a svelte 130 pounds. For her typey head she can thank her father, CH Fleur de Lis To Be Bazaar.

A a true working dog, in spring 2005, she continued to the obedience Rally ring not only earning her first two legs her first two times in the ring, she also placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. When the crowd clapped as she enthusiastically performed her moving down, she responded by trotting along in heel position as though she were back in the confirmation ring, head high, tail wagging. She completed her Rally Novice Obedience Title in the fall of 2005, and her Rally Advanced in 2006, and currently has two leg towards her Rally Excellent Obedience Title.

In spring of 2005 she was bred to CH Cypress Bay’s Imat Cornerbrook, call name Mick. Mick is littermate to sister BISS CH Cypress Bay’s Sea See Baby, and an accomplished show dog with many Best Breed Wins, and AOM’s and most recently Best Veteran in Veteran Sweeps with co-owner John Borkland handling. With the combination of Mick and Mia’s pedigrees, the puppies Mia had in summer of 2005 were special indeed. To date, four of the nine kids completed their AKC championships in 2007. By all four finishing in 2007, Mia earned Top Producing Dam Runner-Up by the Newfoundland Club of America., and Top Producing Dam for the South Eastern Newfoundland Club. This is a tremendous accomplishment for a young kennel, and a first litter! Mia is a foundation bitch that any breeder would be proud to build a kennel around.  She exudes type, personality, and confirmation. She is the whole package!

Her final litter was whelped on December 7, 2007, with serving as stud dog American & Canadian CH Crazy Bear Mani Ultimate Legacy.

Mia attended the 2010 Newfoundland National in Frankenmuth, Michigan to compete in Veterans.  We could not have been more proud of her as she made two cuts, and remained in the ring with BIS bitches, and AOM bitches.  She had a blast being back in the ring, and being in the final eight out of a class of 24 made us very proud of this grand dog.

The rest of the year, Mia resides in her “retirement” home on Hilton Head Island, where her official job is to walk owners, Clayton and Susan Girard at least twice a day, and keep fellow Newfies Zoey and Jesse behaving, and off her couch.  She still visits us regularly and will be showing in Veterans with her zest for the ring whenever possible!
